RECS Day 2 - IPCC Lead Authors / Nobel Laureates Present at RECS

Dr. Sally Benson (Stanford University) with Greeshma Gadikota (Columbia University) and Hang Deng (Princeton University)

June 7th - Drs. Sally Benson (Stanford University) and Stefan Bachu (Alberta Innovates), coordinating lead authors on the influential 2005 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Special Report on Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage, which led to receipt of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize with other IPCC contributing authors, provided foundational lectures at RECS on geological carbon storage and site characterization. Dr. Bachu also covered the status of CCS projects in Canada, including the CAN$2 billion investment by the Alberta Government in large-scale CCS projects.
